Psalm 21:6-7

Verse 6
Surely You have granted him eternal blessings
and made him glad with the joy of Your Presence.
Reading all of Psalm 21 for context, we learn that “him” refers to King David and “You” or “Your” refers to God.
What is this teaching about God?
· God grants eternal blessings.
· God’s Presence brings joy and gladness.
Lesson
· Because of God’s Presence we have joy and gladness in all circumstances.
· All blessings, including Heaven, come from God.
Do
· In tough times we should focus on God who brings joy and not our troubles that bring sadness.
Verse 7
For the king trusts in the Lord;
through the unfailing love of the Most High
he will not be shaken.
Verse 6 comes before verse 7 but is actually a result of the trust expressed in verse 7.
What is this teaching about God?
· God’s love will never fail
· God’s love protects us and gives us strength so we stand firm.
Lesson
· When troubles come, I can lean on God’s Love.
· When I feel weak, I can lean on God’s Love.
