Imperishable Redemption

October 1, 2022 (revisited and revised on 4/3/2023)

1 Peter 1:18-19

Take Time to Pray (Revision)

Dear Lord,

Thank you for this opportunity to spend time in your Word and to be able to share what I learn with others.

Examine

18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

Notice

About God

  • God is imperishable.

  • God is perfect.

  • God is our Savior.

Lesson

  • We have been redeemed from an empty life of sin.

  • Jesus is more precious than anything found on earth.

  • Jesus is the final, perfect sacrificial lamb.

  • There is nothing we can do to earn our salvation since Jesus has done it all.

  • What has been handed down to us from our forefathers? Did they give us the gift of faith or did they give us the emptiness of not knowing God? (revision)

Do

Question (revision)

What is one thing I can do today to work to hand down a life of faith to my children?

Response (revision)

I can pray for my children, lifting them up to the Lord that they will remain in the faith that leads to eternal life.
