Trust - Psalm 56:3-4,10-11

Take Time to Pray

Psalm 62:1-2

1 My soul finds rest in God alone,

my salvation comes from Him.

2 He alone is my rock and my salvation;

He is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

Examine

3 When I am afraid,

I will trust in You.

4 In God, whose Word I praise,

in God I trust; I will not be afraid.

What can mortal man do to me?

10 In God, whose Word I praise,

in the Lord, whose Word I praise -

11 in God I trust; i will not be afraid.

What can man do to me?

Notice

God

  • God is to be praised above all else.

  • God is our Savior.

  • God is our protection.

  • God is trustworthy.

  • God is powerful.

  • God's Word is trustworthy.

  • God's Word is powerful.

Lesson

  • These words must be pretty important to be repeated almost word for word twice in one Psalm.

  • It may seem like man can hurt us here on earth, but he cannot separate us from God or our eventual Heavenly home.

  • When this world seems to be too much to bear, we must fix our eyes on Jesus and our Heavenly home.

  • We find our knowledge of God and Heaven in God's Word and this knowledge helps us to fix our eyes on Heaven.

Do

Question

  • How do I keep my eyes focused on God and Heaven today - a busy day that threatens my peace of mind?

Response

  • Accept that I may not get as much done as I would like to get done.

  • Give myself grace as God gives me grace.

  • Keep Psalm 61:1-2 in my sight today.
